Byte the Book loves bringing people from all areas of the publishing world together so that they can learn from each other and collaborate, and we want to highlight some wonderful collaborations that have come about via Byte The Book. Here's writer Penny Speller telling us about working with author mindset coach Kelly Weekes, who met during the Byte The Book Reciprocity Circle at the London Book Fair.

How did you meet Kelly?
We first met at the Reciproicty Circle at London Book Fair and then Kelly and I met online for two coaching sessions, using Zoom.

What was it like to work with Kelly?

Working with Kelly was really useful. We talked about my writing practice and Kelly was able to reflect back to me on my approach and relationship with my writing. As a coach and someone with experience of the writing/publishing world, she had a good understanding of what I was saying. Kelly made some suggestions about strategies that I could use to move forward, which we then discussed so that I could think about how her suggestions would work for me.

Can you tell us about the result?

We had a follow up session a couple of weeks later, which gave me a chance to reflect back on how the ideas had helped, or given me some new insights.  I have definitely incorporated some of Kelly's strategies into my routines so, for me, the coaching definitely had a productive result.
