Ending this year with [number redacted] unread books on my shelf, and I'm ending it with like [number undisclosed] uncracked books waiting to be read. I know how my Reading Challenge will start in 2026. __

With all the demands on our time it can be hard to dedicate time to writing but showing up to the page is necessary if you are going to get your book written.

We are excited to welcome Julia Forster to our online event all about creating space for your writing. This could be deciding on taking yourself on a retreat to write, creating a retreat-like experience for yourself at home or simply developing the habits, consistency and boundaries needed to create some time for writing in your everyday life and schedule.

Julia will be in conversation with Kelly Weekes, an ICF accredited coach, so both speakers will be able to offer you plenty of tips and strategies to make 2026 the year you do find the time to write.

About our guest:

Julia Forster runs the Writers’ Cabin, a self-led writer’s retreat near Machynlleth, mid Wales which was chosen by The Sunday Times within months of opening as one of the top UK writing retreats. She is a fully qualified author coach and writer development specialist who worked in the publishing industry for 25 years across multiple roles, and she is currently studying for a PhD in Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University to write a memoir. As an author, her most recent published work was What a Way to Go (Atlantic Books, 2016) and she has also published a work of non-fiction called Muses. A regular tutor at writers’ centres across the UK, Julia is also Co-Director of Being A Writer for The Literary Consultancy. https://writewithin.wales/writers-retreat/

This workshop is free for Byte The Book members and £25* for everyone else.
