Are you ready to pitch your novel to an agent? Then don’t miss this online event covering all the essentials you need to know:
- How to be brave and make the leap to pitch your novel
- When is the best time to pitch?
- Who should you pitch to and how do you find out who might be a good agent for you?
- What do you need to include in your submission?
- What are agents actually looking for?
- How many people should you pitch to?
- Can you pitch something you've already self published?
Join us on 22nd April at 1pm as Kelly Weekes will be in conversation with literary agent, and publishing consultant, Vicky Hartley, discussing how authors can pitch their novels to agents well. There will be plenty of time for your questions and although the focus of this conversation will be fiction there is bound to be useful suggestions that will help you if you are writing in another area.
About our speaker: Vicky Hartley is a Publishing Consultant and Literary Agent at The Ahsun Literary Agency. With over 25 years of experience in the publishing industry - including a 19-year tenure culminating as Deputy Managing Director at Watkins Media - Vicky brings a uniquely business-savvy collaborative approach to agenting. Having worn many hats across sales, marketing, and company strategy, she is passionate about helping authors not just get published, but build long-lasting, successful careers from manuscript to marketplace.
Vicky is currently building her client list, with a particular love for commercial fiction that ignites passion, whether that’s an emotionally charged story or a mentally engaging thriller with twists and turns to keep her guessing. With her sharp eye for a strong story and deep industry knowledge, Vicky is well placed to demystify the submission process and help authors craft pitches that agents can't say no to.
