Byte the Book loves bringing people from all areas of the publishing world together so that they can learn from each other and collaborate, and we want to highlight some wonderful collaborations that have come about via Byte The Book.
Here's writer Rupal Patel (above, left) talking about meeting Literary Agent Charlotte Colwill (above, right) at a Byte the Book Agent Tables event, and how this lead to the imminent publication of her book From CIA to CEO: Unconventional Life Lessons for Thinking Bigger, Leading Better, and Being Bolder with Bonnier.

How did you meet your agent?
I met Charlotte at the Agent Tables event in March 2021; she was one of two agents who I was paired with for a 1-1 during the event.
How did you find out about Agent Tables?
A friend of a friend told me about the event as she has been part of Byte the Book for a while. She ended up swapping places with me so I could attend the March Agent Tables (instead of waiting for June), and it turned out to be a serendipitous swap!
Who did you meet at our event and what happened?
I met my wonderful now-agent Charlotte Colwill and we immediately connected. We had a chat during our allocated slot and then spoke again separately that same day. Charlotte really understood my vision for From CIA to CEO, and we vibed on an intellectual and personal level. She asked to represent me and it was an easy "yes."
After Charlotte and I teamed up, we worked together to pull together my submission materials and Charlotte got busy pitching to publishers. In the end we had offers from five different publishers and accepted our offer from Bonnier UK, who are a perfect home and I have a wonderful editor in Rik Ubhi. From CIA to CEO: Unconventional Life Lessons for Thinking Bigger, Leading Better, and Being Bolder will be coming out in May 2022 under Bonnier's new "smart thinking" imprint Heligo Books and is already available for pre-order! Charlotte and I are now planning my next non-fiction book, so watch this space!
