Charlotte Oliver

Charlotte studied Classics and Modern Languages at Cambridge, before taking the "logical" next step and winding up in the mad, bad world of celebrity showbiz journalism. Over the past decade, she's interviewed everyone from Love Island red carpet fledglings to Sigourney Weaver and Michael Bublé, writing dissertation-length deep-dives on the intersecting lives of the royals and Hollywood A-listers along the way. She previously worked as a staff writer and editor the Jewish Chronicle, Heat, Red, Prima and Good Housekeeping, and also has bylines in The Guardian, The Telegraph, Closer, Bella and The Sunday Sun's Fabulous magazine. Now, she's attempting to take a side-step from journalism to write (and hopefully soon complete) her first novel, which has nothing to do with the above. Written in the vein of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Girl Interrupted, it's a dark comedy, telling the story of one woman's attempt to stay sane inside the insanity of a 60-day stay in a mental health facility, meeting "crazy" patients and staff alike, and coming to terms with her own mental illness.
