Phil writes historical fiction and screenplays. A graduate of the University of Warwick's writing programme, they came to London from sun-drenched California, where they lived the Los Angeles cliché — working a Hollywood studio job by day and writing by night.

Phil's first novel is The Figurehead, set during the Italian Renaissance.
