Sponsored by Kevin Anderson & Associates 📚 We had an brilliant evening of networking and learning from our experts on the panel as they explored what authors need to know about publishing #TomeTruths

Our panel of experts were professionals from across the industry, including our director and founder, Justine Solomons as panel chair and our great line-up of speakers: Clare Christian, Director of Operations at Kevin Anderson & Associates, Cat Black, artist and author of Feast, and Abi Fellows, Literary Agent at DHH Literary.

Our knowledgable panel discussed and answered various questions around publishing, ranging from why some authors might prefer indie publishing over traditional publishing, what role agents play in the career of an author, whether author social media followings are important to publishing houses and much more.

Why does it take so long to get a book out once the contract has been agreed? What really goes on with your book in a publishing house? How much does it cost to publish a book? Is self publishing a bad idea? What does it mean when publishers talk about rights? Join us as we discuss these topics and more.

✨ Have you booked your ticket for our Agent Tables in September or November 2026?✨ Our Agent Tables are a fantastic opportunity to meet literary agents! Each author will meet with two agents privately on the day to discuss their work. These private sessions will last fifteen minutes each, and the agents will have read your work beforehand. For the remaining time, the authors will have the opportunity to take part in discussions about their publishing experiences with the other participants. Our next session will be on September 16th 2026. We ask that you submit your work to us by 28th AUGUST 2026 to give us time to send it to the agents. This event is sponsored by @hwfisheruk.
