Videl Bar-Kar – Audio Publishing Consultant & Literary Festival Board Member
After a 4 year stint as a classical music agent I jumped into the nascent digital music world at the turn of the millennium joining Europe's first legal music download store (pre-iTunes) and subsequently other leading media start ups. In 2010 I made the leap into the world of books and ideas as Director of the Ways With Words literary festival group and then in 2013 moved into the heart of publishing as Audio Publisher for the newly merged Penguin Random House, where I led an award winning team across editorial, production and marketing, as well as securing a global audio publishing partnership with BBC Worldwide and re-launching the Penguin Podcast hosted by Richard E Grant.
I now work independently to help publishers and organisations launch and grow their audio and digital publishing businesses, as well as being an advisory board member for the Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Experience across organisational cultures from start ups to global media groups.
