My interest in English inspired me to study further leading me to achieve an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck Gordon Square, in London which fulfilled my long term ambition to write my debut novel: “Milkman’s Son, Kikula”, set in Uganda. In November 2021, Arts Council England recognised the novel as being unique and rewarded me with funds to help prepare it for publication.
Essentially, I am a fiction and travel writer, and a teacher of English. My series of articles ‘Places of Interest’ were published by the Culture Trip, and ‘Fork and Knife’, an extract from ‘Milkman’s Son, Kikula’, has been selected for inclusion in the 100 Voices anthology celebrating 100 years of women’s suffrage to be published by Unbound in March 2022.
Everyone has a story to tell, albeit real or made up and Milkman's Son, Kikula, is mine.
