Cat's published writing to date is as a food writer. She is a member of The Guild of Food Writers, Grand Jury member of The International Chocolate Awards and tutor at The International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting. An adult narrative non-fiction book on chocolate will be on submission, represented by Fiona Lindsay (Limelight) in January 2020.

She has written for a variety of publications, including among others The Spectator’s Scoff, Cakes & Sugarcraft Magazine, Chef Magazine, Ganache, Caterer & Hotelkeeper, FOUR – The World’s Best Food Magazine, Girl’s Guide to Paris, Celebrated Living and 1001 Restaurants You Must Experience Before You Die.

She is co-author of Sex & Drugs & Sausage Rolls – the autobiography and recipe book of Michelin starred chef Graham Garrett (FACE Publications, October 2015), and author of The Great British Bake Off, Bake it Better – Chocolate (Hodder & Stoughton 2016). Most recently she worked with Coutts as the writer of their book about Executive Chef Peter Fiori and his famous Skyline Garden (FACE Publications 2019).

Since 2016 she has been working on fiction for children, mentored by Branford Boase winning children’s fiction editor Imogen Cooper. She has also spent time working with Barry Cunningham at The Chicken House further developing her ideas, all of which have creativity at their heart.

Giving talks about chocolate to private and corporate clients has given her plenty of experience in public speaking and running workshops. And she is now developing workshops on nurturing creative minds with Imogen Cooper, to begin in 2020. In her aim to be a published children’s writer she hopes to bring this work to children

Cat has a longer career as an artist, under her maiden name Catherine Kurtz. She is represented by The Redfern Gallery, with her next upcoming show in November 2020. This has led to some illustration work on books for Duttons Publishing and Pavilion Children's Books.
