Emma Claire Sweeney – Author, Writing Tutor and Co-founder of Something Rhymed

Since graduating with distinction from UEA’s Creative Writing MA, Emma Claire has held university posts in creative writing at the likes of City University’s Novel Studio, New York University in London, and the University of Cambridge. With friend and colleague Emily Midorikawa, she runs SomethingRhymed.com, a website that profiles the literary friendships of famous female authors.

Emma Claire’s work has appeared in publications such as the Guardian, the Independent on SundayThe Times, and Mslexia, and the Arts Council sponsored her poetry collection, The Memoir Garden.

Her fiction has won Arts Council, Royal Literary Fund and Escalator Awards, and has been shortlisted for several others, including the Asham, Wasafiri and Fish.

She is working on The Waifs and Strays of Sea View Lodge – a novel about wildly different twin sisters growing up in 1950s Morecambe.
