Brad has had a life-long fascination with how people make decisions. This led to a graduate degree in Decision Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania.

With David Hirzel, he recently co-authored the book, When Your Life Depends on It: Extreme Decision Making Lessons from the Antarctic.

Brad’s interest in polar history started at age 8. He has attended many Antarctic conferences and recently attended the Shackleton 100th anniversary commemorative service at Westminster Abbey. Brad and David launched their book in May 2017 at the Fram Museum in Oslo and Discovery Point in Dundee, Scotland, sites that house the two remaining Antarctic expedition ships from the early 1900’s: Amundsen’s Antarctic ship, the Fram, and Robert Scott’s first Antarctic ship, the Discovery.
