Aki Schilz is Editorial Services Manager at The Literary Consultancy, the UK’s first and leading editorial assessment service for writers. She has a Bachelor in English and French Literature from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction from Bath Spa University, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the official Creative Writing anthology, ARC. After working in arts administration, Aki completed a number of publishing internships (among them Granta and Literary Review) and was Acquisitions Assistant at Jessica Kingsley Publishers before starting work as a freelance copywriter and workshop facilitator specialising in literacy, poetry, and storytelling. She has also for several years provided private tuition in English Literature, creative writing, and English as a Foreign Language to primary and secondary school pupils. Her fiction is represented by Rogers, Coleridge and White and her creative work has appeared in various online and print publications including theNewerYork, The Bohemyth, Annexe Magazine and Popshot Magazine. She is also a performance poet. At The Literary Consultancy, Aki is in charge of the day-to-day running of the office and handles all submissions, manages a team of 80 readers, co-ordinates the Arts Council funded Free Read Bursary Scheme for talented low-income writers, is responsible for the Chapter and Verse mentoring scheme, editing the content of the TLC website and TLC’s marketing.
