Byte the Book – Is DRM Killing the Publishing Industry?Monday, January 19, 2015
18:30 - 21:00
What is Digital Rights Management? Why is it vital that authors and publishers understand its implications? What’s the best approach to DRM? Is piracy always a bad thing? Should we protect or project our content or can we do both?
For our first event of the new year we’re staging a debate. Richard Mollet (CEO. The Publishers Association) will chair and is joined by Stephanie Duncan (Digital Media Director of Bloomsbury Publishing) and John Mitchinson (Author, Co-Founder of Unbound and Head of Research on QI).
This will be our last event at the Club at the Ivy for the time being (we’re at The Groucho Club next month). Ivy and Byte the Book members get in free, limited early bird tickets are available at £10 then rise to £15 (plus booking fee) for everyone else. If you are keen to join Byte the Book please sign up here. Note cost of membership is currently £60.
Members just need to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org if they want to come along.
Non-members, need to sign up for a ticket to reserve their place.
